New Music - CDs from Amazon - Jason Falkner Rules!
The great thing about amazon.com is you can find almost anything! And when it comes to music, you don’t have to be restricted by the local shop manager who may not appreciate the Jellyfish or Frank Zappa.
The other day I did a cd hunting mission on amazon because I was curious what a few of my favorite artists were up to and since I’d never see their cd’s in the local cd store I was hoping for some suprises.
One of disks I bought was a reall KILLER! NOo, not the killers but a cd from Jason Falkner that just never reached the lower depths of the mainstream.
Why - I have no idea…
This guy is up there in brilliance with the best of the Beatles yet he can’t even crack PUBLIC RADIO or college stations… well maybe… that’s likely the only exposure he has had, but as I found with his cd “Bliss Descending” there is no shortage of new great music out there!
This cd is as good as his previous monster “Author Unknown” which is really tops in my books…
This guy, Jason Falkner and Eric Matthews plus bands like Dada plus The Grays among others are national treasures that deserve at least some acclaim.
The music is POP and is very catchy BUT it has staying power as it breaks convention oh so slightly and challenges us just a little bit. Not too much - don’t run away scared now…
“The Neighbor” wow… talk about catchy… After 1 listen I was already singing this one and after a few listens it was etched on my mind
Same with “They Put Her In The Movies”. Wow. Brilliance. Pop music can have songs with words that are interesting.
“Moving Up” is another great one.
My only cpmplaint about Jason Falkners cd Bliss Descending is that it is too short… 5 songs is not enough!
Well, I hope we can see something new from Jason soon. His voice deserves to be heard.
11/12/06 Hey! I just found some great stuff on eBay for Jason Falkner and Jellyfish! Wow! Here is a link to some current Jason Falkner Jellyfish Items
